Written by Nichcha kanuenghet, BBA#22

Thailand Accounting Case Competition 2017 was held by the Federation of Accounting Professions Thailand (FAP) which allows participating teams to analyze and make practical recommendation for the case company by integrating both accounting and strategic knowledge. As the competition has been initiated this year, there were 114 teams nationwide participated and the 16 semi-finalist teams were selected to join the final round competition at the FAP office on May 6, 2017.

If I were to describe this case competition as an accounting class, I would say it is an AC411, Advanced Accounting which covered all aspects of accounting from the basic concept to the real-life practices.  Our case company this year is the SCG Solution Business which incorporates the total value chain of construction from building, inventory warehousing and customer relationship management. To crack the case, we have conducted extensive researches about construction industry and applied in-depth analysis to identify the underlying issues. Believing that Rome isn?t built in one day, our team ?Against the tide & Co? which consists of Siripat Chuichum (BBA#22, Accounting Major), Napat Poonsawad (BBA#22, Finance Major), Weerich Wuvanich (BBA#22, Accounting Major), Mayuree Kiatadisorn (BBA#23, Accounting Major) and myself, Nichcha Kanuenghet (BBA#22, Accounting Major); puts together pieces of information and integrates our accounting business knowledge into our recommendations time by time in order to come up with the most decent presentation.

In the Final round, 4 the qualifying teams are required make a professional presentation to the honorable panel of judges from top companies in consulting, banking and auditing field. Our team successfully won the first-runner up award and represented BBA Thammasat in this prestigious arena. None of this could have been happened without the kind support we have received. In name of Against the Tide, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to our advisors, Dr. Worapong Janyangyuen, Asst. Prof. Dr. Orapan Yolrabil, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kulaya Jantadej and Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerachai Arunruangsirilert. All in all, I would like to extend our great success to BBA Thammasat International Program for providing us an opportunity as well as professional training to be part of this incredible journey.
