AC433 Field Trip at Café Amazon Roasting Plant

Written by Papatsorn Kamutpat, BBA#22

On 27 October 2016, myself along with the entire class for AC 433 (Accounting for Planning and Control) went on a field trip to visit the Amazon factory in Ayutthaya. It was an honor to have Khun Pichapong Pokapun, a Thammasart alumni, as our group speaker.

This trip gave us such a great opportunity to learn and gain new experience in regards to the real working world. Cafe amazon is derived from the world famous coffee place, Brazil. The café?s concept is ?nature lover?. It?s where you go to feel relaxed whilst drinking coffee. The atmosphere is filled with lots of greenery hence, giving a simplistic and natural feel to the place. At the start of the trip, we were made to watch a presentation of Café Amazon in order to gain a better understanding of the business. We were taken on a tour of the factory to observe and learn more about how their coffee beans were allocated into different types, how coffee beans were produced and what they do to prepare product before distribution. This session gave us a real picture from what we have learned in class. The entire experience was incredible and we actually learnt a lot about this industry. Hopefully we will be able to get to use this experience to my advantage in the future.

The entire AC 433 class genuinely enjoyed the field trip and we would like to thank Ajarn Pailin Trongmateerut; the class?s professor, for this valuable opportunity and BBA Program for arranging this beneficial trip for us.
