LO212 Introduction to Logistics Management Field Trip at SCG Logistics

On 10th October 2016, BBA program held a field trip to visit The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG) to LO212 students. This field trip gives a new experience outside the classroom to the student in order to help us understand the concept of logistic in more practical way.

The Siam Cement Public Company Limited or SCG is the leading cement company in Thailand and Southeast Asia, which has been operated more than 100 years. The company is composed of over 100 companies in five business groups, employing approximately 24,000 employees, and handling more than 64,000 product items. The products are marketed domestically and exported to all regions of the world.

For the field trip, it was divided into 2 sessions, which were: Lecture & Discussion given by Mr. Udom Kongkakate, Sales and marketing director, and his team. In this session, we listened about SCG?s supply chain and logistics management that gave us the real picture of how logistics was applied in the reality. Another session was visit of Logistics Command Center, HQ Mezzanine Floor. In this session we had an opportunity to see the real work of SCG logistics management.

Lastly, we as LO212 students have to thank to Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntichai Kotcharin for offering and arranging this beneficial field trip to us. This field trip gave us an opportunity to explore and broaden our knowledge of logistics in the real world.
