We stated off our trip with a casual day at Beppu, a beautiful city situated in the southern part of Japan. After that we kick started the competition with a short case, a 5-hour case, which the ranking will determine the division that we would compete against in the long case, a 24-hour case. The short-case is about blue roses and carnations, engineered by Suntory a large conglomerate in Japan. The objective of the case is they wanted us to market this flowers, so called ?APPLAUSE? and ?MOONDUST?, in our country. The expectation was high, because this would determine our division and, thus, our chance of making to the final. After a tough 5 hours of debating and data synthesis, we have constructed a 10-page Powerpoint presentation. Then, we have another 2 days of invaluable experience in Beppu and Yufuin. The excursion was a fantastic and culture-rich experience for us. The culture and nature of Japan will always remain in our memory forever.
