Having a chance to join The 20th Tri-University International Joint Seminar & Symposium 2013 held in Mie University, Mie Prefecture, Japan during October 28th ? November 1st , 2013 was such a great experience for us.

Tri-University International Joint Seminar & Symposium was hosted by 4 universities; Mie University (Japan), Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Jiangsu University (China) and Bagor Agricultural University (Indonesia) and they agreed host the program in turn. This year the event was held by Mie University (Japan) and will be followed by Chiang Mai University (Thailand) in 2014. Mie University is located in Tsu city, Mie prefecture, which takes around an hour apart from Nagoya city in the central of Japan.

There?re delegations joining the program from 20 universities across 8 countries; China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Russia and Thailand. Furthermore, topics of this seminar are Population, Food, Energy, Environment and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), under the theme of ?The Role of Asia for Innovative Globalization?.

Our research paper, ?How students? Attitude Affect the Future of Development of Thailand Education System?, was under the topic of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) which was the special topic included for this year.  We learned a lot of this problem in other countries across Asia on this issue and also in other topics as well.

On the first day, after arrived in Mie prefecture, Mie University had kindly arranged a special field trip for us to ?Red Hill?, Red Hill is used for researching a long term growth of Rhododendron and other flowering trees and shrub and also serves as a natural park. We were very impressed by the beauty of this site. The following four days are keynote lecture, session for students? presentation as well as an excursion.

There was also workshop activity which gave us a chance to work with friends from various countries in Asia, such as, Japan, China, Indonesia and Malaysia. Brainstorming activity also broadened our perspectives on how each country see and perceive the same specific problems. Actually, the ways we see the world were different from countries to countries, however, we believed that teamwork and acceptance to others opinions were the key success for build innovative ideas in the globalization world. Collaborating and sharing were incremental parts for team successes.
