TUBC 2012 - The Challenger

Thammasat Undergraduate Business Challenge (TUBC) 2012 is launching "The Challenger" purposefully to increase the society's interest in the business world. "The Challenger" features groups of undergraduates competing against each other within a 24-hour time limit, which is less than the time limit given to the TUBC participants. They will receive the same case as the TUBC participants but will not be limited to computer usage and any kind of references. Unlimited numbers of teams are eligible for application. Interested candidates can apply through our online channel www.tubc.org/challenger  

 

Entry Criteria:

·         Thai Nationality

·         Full-time undergraduates, from public and private colleges and universities in Thailand

·         Participating team must compete in teams of 4 students.

·         Team members can be from different colleges, universities, and faculties.

·         A participant cannot be a member of more than one team.

 

?The Challenger? participants are subjected to a 450 Baht registration fee per team.

 

Registration Process:

1.     Download application form from www.tubc.org/challenger

2.     Deposit participation fee to the following TUBC account:

3.     Scan and submit your payment receipt along with your application form to dropbox and share your folder with tubc@tubc.org

4.     Deadline for application: 6 pm on August 12, 2012

 

Awards
An Award Presentation ceremony will be held during the TUBC event. Winners will receive "The Challenger" trophy and will be promoted through sponsored media such as TNN, Channel 3, etc.

 

Case Preparation

1.     Each team prepares and presents their ideas and recommendations for the case company. The case will be sent out to every team at 4 pm on August 16, 2012 via dropbox.

2.     All teams must produce a PowerPoint presentation within 24 hours, by 4:00 pm on August 17, 2012 and submit it via dropbox by sharing your slides with tubc@tubc.org (once the PowerPoint slides have been submitted, no changes can be made to your presentations thereafter). Note that presentations and slides are to be in ENGLISH ONLY.

3.     Teams are free to refer to any text books or references while preparing their PowerPoint slides.

4.     The TUBC Committee together with honorable judges will choose 4 most outstanding teams for the final round. The final round presentation will be held on August 18th, 2012 at Centara Grand Hotel, Bangkok at 8:00 am. The finalist announcement will be made through www.tubc.org/challenger at 10 pm on August 17, 2012. The 4 finalists will get to make their 20-minute presentation to the judges and a 15-minute Question and Answer session will follow.

 

Practicalities in the final round of ?The Challenger?

1.     The TUBC Organizing Committee will provide the slides for the final round, which will be the same as the ones uploaded to your dropbox.

2.     All public sessions of the competition are opened to the public. Any and all of these public sessions may be broadcasted to interested persons through media. Any data or information discussed or divulged in these public sessions by entrants should be considered information that will likely enter the public domain, and entrants should not assume any right of confidentiality in any information.
