BBA Thammasat: The Winner of 7th Thailand Accounting Case Competition

Thailand Accounting Case Competition or TACC is a competition held each year by the Federation of Accounting Professions with an objective to encourage students to learn and apply knowledge about accounting and business. Our team that also participated in this competition comprised of five BBA Thammasat students (BBA #29): Pichaya Wungpreedaleatkul (Peachz) Petcharat Pokjai (Petch), Nicharee Tankarnjananurak (Ploy), Pantila Anantanasub and Intouch Mahaphan (In). Fortunately, from 98 teams all over the country and 2 rounds of competition, we were announced the winning team.

This year, we are honored to have Minor International as the case company. Since Minor offers a wide range of products and services domestically and globally, it was quite a challenging case since we needed to analyze every business unit in all regions. Somehow, the case also gave up a great opportunity to dig deep into the business in all aspects: financial statement analysis, internal and external environment analysis, strategy formulation, digital transformation, and shared value creation. TACC and Minor has given our team with the most structured case ever. We came up with a lot of analysis and ideas that aim to help Minor come back to growth after the pandemic. Therefore, it’s not an exaggeration to say that it was one of our hardest but enjoyable competitions that we have participated in.

After several months of dedication, we can say that we are very pleased with the outcome. However, we realized that it’s not the most important thing, but it’s rather what happened along the journey. We have learned new things, improved our skills, and gained valuable experiences. We appreciated our synergy and commitment because we know that we couldn’t have gone this far without everyone’s collaboration, effort, and tremendous support.

We would like to say thank you to Minor International and Federation of Accounting Professions for hosting this amazing competition. We feel so honored to be a part of this prestigious event.

Lastly, we would like to extend our gratitude to BBA Thammasat and our advisor, Ajarn Dr.Worapong, for facilitating and helping us during the entire competition.
